RN / LVN Flu and Wellness (Per Diem)

The Flu and Wellness Program RN/LVN administers immunizations and performs wellness screenings at community-based clinics and company business sites, and promotes community relations between Sutter Care at Home and the general public. The position will begin active duties in August. The position is per diem. Nurses are expected to be available for participation in at least 10 clinics during the flu season; however, they may be scheduled for fewer than 10.

****The Per Diem schedule of this position can vary from 1 to 5 hour shifts, depending on business and clinic needs.*****


**Education:** RN or LVN graduate from an accredited curriculum.

**Licensure and Certifications:**

+ CA State Licensure - RN required - **OR -** LVN required

+ Basic Life Support Certification - BLS required

+ Driver License, Valid and in State - DL NUMBER required

+ Automobile Insurance - required


+ Knowledge of clinical skills in community health setting strongly preferred.

+ Knowledge of customer service in any setting suggested

**Skills and Knowledge:**

+ Must have the ability to function independently and interact in a professional manner with business management, community organizations and clients.

+ Knowledge of safety and infection control principles.

+ Must be able to recognize emergency situations and act appropriately.

+ Must be able to meet company productivity standards as indicated by organization and manager.

+ Must be able, to effectively communicate with department staff, other Sutter Care at Home employees and community, and carryout essential functions.

+ Must be able to handle sensitive issues, conflict with or among others, effectively plan and organize and prioritize work, think critically and to effectively solve problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor.

+ Must be able to deal with challenging work environment with time demands.

+ Maintain a positive and professional image and demonstrate self-directed learning to meet professional development and/or license requirements.

+ Responsible for maintaining all required licensure and certifications.

+ At orientation and annually thereafter, must be able to meet Sutter Care at Home core competencies for position and area of specialty, as appropriate.

+ Must have reliable transportation.

+ Must be willing to travel to clinics throughout the region

+ Must be available for flu & wellness clinics year round

+ Must be available to work a minimum of 10 clinics each flu season, assuming there are an adequate number of clinics needing staffing.

+ Must respond to emails and phone calls from the Flu and Wellness Area Coordinator regarding clinic scheduling within 24 hours unless other arrangements are made with the coordinator or coordinator is notified of inability of nurse to respond timely.

+ Must have access to personal cell phone and computer

**Additional Requirements:**

+ This job requires travel to and from flu clinics, and to and from the regional office. Flu and Wellness Nurses may spend up to 15-25% of their working time in travel

+ Each Flu and Wellness Nurses will be required to staff at least one weekend or PM shift, at the request of the Area Coordinator
